Ground Handler

Overview

Performs various jobs to prepare planes for flight. Duties vary between airports and airlines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service
  • Handle baggage and freight
  • In some cases, use material handling equipment such as forklifts, conveyors belts and freight delivery vehicles
  • Fill out paperwork associated with their cargo
  • Keep records of what has been loaded and unloaded
  • Ensure customer safety
  • Assist with fuelling planes
  • Keeping the plane clean, both exterior and interior
  • Follow safety and security procedures
